[dropcap_two] P [/dropcap_two] ortugal was a surprising destination for me. The first time I visited, I expected it to be very similar to Spain; but it turns out that it has its own distinct character. The things I enjoyed most were the sometimes crumbling architecture, the kindness of the Portuguese and how open they are to visitors, and the not so expensive food and wine!
That time I spent almost three months in Portugal, but I didn’t visit that many places. I choose to concentrate in a couple of regions instead. My base was the little town of Sintra, a beautiful site just an hour by train from Lisbon. From there, I head on to Porto on the north and stayed in that area for a couple of weeks.
These are the highlights of my time in Portugal. If you have questions or want to know more about this places, do not hesitate to contact me.
Where I’ve been
⓵ Lisbon: one of Europe’s most beautiful capital cities. When I was there it was alway sunny and there was enough street art to keep me happy. I’d love to spend more time there!
⓶ Sintra: my base in Portugal, this town can get very busy in the summer, as is a very popular day trip for people in Lisbon. Some people see it as a tourist trap; but to get away from the crowds and admire what Sintra has to offer you need to spend so time there.
⓷ Porto: another place I enjoyed some really cool street art. It’d be nice to stay here some time if I go back to Portugal.
